Worth visiting

The houses in Drepano being built very close to one another, together with its narrow streets, make the village look like an island. Perhaps this is the reason why the villagers call the peninsula of Drepano “the island”. This peninsula is 3 km long, with the remains of the Venetian Castle at its further end. It’s worth taking a walk past the Town Hall; the street will lead you to a traditional stone windmill. In the village square there is the Church of Saint Adrianos and Saint Natalia, famous for its iconostasis (templon). There are also some picturesque small churches in the area, like the church of St Spyridon and St Paraskevi, St Nicholas and St George.
